Funky Hand Recipe Challenge

I've just had a lovely meal cooked for me by friends and wanted to send a thank you so I thought I would combine it with the Funky Hand Challenge this month.
I printed off three papers from The Papercraft Factory. I used Colour Me Happy and the Delighted Laughter group of papers. I cut out six labels using my big shot and put them together sandwiching two lengths of ribbon. I then cut out five flowers from one of the papers, added some gems and put a couple of buttons on the centre label. I printed out a thank you and popped it in the middle. I'm quite pleased with it as it's a little bit different from a card and will stand up easily. I wrote my message at the back so I hope they like it. They spoilt us rotten with a fabulous meal so I wanted to make sure I made a nice thank you card.
Thanks for looking x

Absolutely Gutted!

Gutted at Cardiff City's game on Monday...........after feeling so positive they threw it away. I've got to try and lift my sprits and get on with making three cards I've got on order. Plus I've just had an enquiry for wedding stationery. I've not had one for a few months so it will be enjoyable if this one comes off.
I hate the highs and lows of being passionate about football!

Funky Hand Challenge April 2011

Just spent a lovely afternoon making a few boxes and a bag for my neighbour's daughter. I've managed to get her three children interested in crafting and it's one of her daughters birthday at the end of the month. I've bought her some bits and bobs and thought some hand made boxes would finish them off really well. If you like the cylinder box I got the idea from Splitcoast Stampers. They have a brilliant web site which gives you all sorts of resources to craft with. Their templates and instructions are fab.
Anyway, I used Funky Daze (Saturday Shopping) for the stripes. It's one of my favourite CD's. I then used Polka Dots Pink and Light Brown from my free download (when I won last months challenge........ whoopee doo !!!)
Hope you like them as I'm putting them in for this month's Funky Hand challenge.
Thanks for looking xx

Easel Cards

Good morning. What fantastic weather we're having. Hope this isn't our summer!
Had a go at making an Easel Card from a download from cardmaking world and I'm quite pleased on how it's turned out. I quite like cutting out but these are not too complicated. I bought a set of eight designs and can print them off as often as I like. Brilliant for youngsters which I always struggle with. Now I've got the template I'll have a play and see if I can come up with my own designs. Thanks for looking x

Flippin 'eck

Flippin 'eck............I've won the Funky Hand challenge this month. Whooppee. I've never one anything like this before and I'm chuffed to bits. Thank you for voting for me if you are reading this. It will give me the confidence to enter in some other challenges and of course, do the Funky challenge every month.

Lovely day today

What a fantastic day it is today. I'm washing everything in sight (trying not to think of the ironing) and loving the fact all my doors and windows are open. I've made a 'New Home' card for my daughter to give to her friend which worked out well. I'm going to make a few now but in different colours so I can put them in my box for spares and too sell (if I'm lucky!) I'm trying to make an effort and sell some cards so I can buy the Paint Fusion range from Sheena Douglas. That's my next purchase hopefully. Thanks for looking xx

Mothers Day

Good morning, I've made my Mum a flower circle for Mothers Day as she is allergic to flowers but loves them. I'm hoping she can hang this on her kitchen door and will last a lot longer than anything I may have bought her to grow.
I started by drawing two circles on some packaging and cut the wreath shape out. I printed some papers from Crafts the Year Away (Marching On) and made sure I printed both sides to catch any overlaps. I then made some scalloped circles using the Nestabilities and placed them all around the circle front and back. I then made some flowers using my big shot and some sizzix dies and added a ribbon hang, some clear gems and a sprinkle of glitter on the edges. A few buttons with a couple of strands of fibre and that was it! It's hanging on my door a bit squiwhiff but I'll sort that out before I give it to Mum.
I'm going to put it in for this months challenge over at Funky Hand. Thanks for looking x

Engagement card

'morning all, I've made the engagement card and they've been sent out so I can share. I used a photo from their holiday in Venice. It was just at the spot where he proposed so it had meaning for them both. I used my nesties to make a frame and just added a heart with a few gems. The wording was just made on the computer. Easiest invite I've done for a while. They were pleased and have had some positive comments which is all good. I may have a wedding out of it as one of their friends wanted my details to ask if I can do their wedding next year. I've done 5 weddings so far and may have 2 coming up so it will keep me out of mischief for a while:)

March already?

Where did February go? I'm busy making some engagement invites for my son who just proposed to his partner in Venice on a gondola. How romantic is that? I'll pop a photo on when they've sent them out. I've had a go at using the grey range of Promarkers as Nicki from Polka Doodles did on Create & Craft. It's not bad for a first attempt but I need to improve. Hope you're having good weather like we are in South Wales. Cardiff City play again tonight so I'm hoping for a win again.

Come on you Bluebirds

Yippee........another win for Cardiff City. We have to keep winning games now until the end of the season for a serious chance of getting into the premiership.
I love Pink Petticoat designs and I've just made a few cards using their sewing machine download. I'm quite pleased how they have turned out and they were very easy to make. Just a little water colour, a few gems and a flower and that's job done. Oh....I forgot. I used my sticky lacy border that I bought from Lakeland when they were selling craft in the good old days. Hope you like it.

Funky Hand February Challenge

I've made my card for this months Funky Hand Challenge. I've used 'Craft the year away' CD and then used the February Love collection. I chose a few of the papers and used the stripe design as a 'ribbon-like' border. I had a lovely gel heart in my stash which I used in the middle and then cut a few hearts out using a Sizzix die. Rounded off the corners with my punch and that was it apart from the little 3d sticker that was another bargain from a local store close to me called 'What'. It's a bit like a Poundland but they have some amazing bargains for crafters. Hope you like it.

Simple style

'morning, I've been creating a few cards this week with a very simple style to them. I've used Pink Petticoat downloads and my nesties and that's it apart from a smidgeon of water colour. I've shown them to my daughter and she likes them which is always a good marker. Sometimes less is more and hope that they will go down well when I sell my cards. I'm trying to increase my stash so that when they go into a staff room or family and friends want to see them, I have a good selection.

Funky Hand Funkette

Okay, I've got my blinkie for my design challenge with Funky Hand and it's proudly displayed on the right hand side of my blog. I'm going to try and find some more challenges so I can join in more and feel part of the crafting community.
One of the cards I recently made could go in this months challenge but I haven't decided yet. Perhaps I'll make a few next week and see if I can improve. No puppy sitting next week (apart from monday) so I should have more time to craft.

Nacho's going home today

Nacho goes home today so I should be able to do some crafting. It's surprising what you can't do when you've got a six month puppy to look after but he's been a joy. I'll miss him when my son comes home and takes him back.
I've won a 'blinkie' from Funky Hands for entering their challenge which is great but if I'm honest, I don't know what it is or what to do with it! Hopefully it will be another thing I'll learn about blogging.
I thought I'd post my Christmas card for this year. I usually make about 80 handmade cards and like to design one which goes to about 70 of my friends and family. Then I design one for Mum, Mother in law, daughter and son etc. This design was from Polka Doodles paper boutique. I must say it went down well. Everyone seemed to like it.

Wow

I'm overcome! I had no idea that I had comments on my blog until today and I'm thrilled to bits. Thanks everyone. I've been looking after my sons puppy 'Nacho' so I haven't had the chance to craft over the last week or so. He's well worth it though don't you agree? Thanks for the encouragement and advice and I'll be trying some more challenges (if I can find some). Looking forward to next month with Funky Hand. I love the new CD 'Craft the Year Away' and I'm chuffed to bits it's updated the other two Papercraft Factory CD's. Thanks again :)

Funky Hand Challenge

I'm having a go at my first challenge. I've never had the courage to get involved before so here goes. I've made this card using nesties, a few peel-offs (as I've got so many and never use them) and some paper from the Dreams Come True collection called Darkness Lifts. I've finished it off with a brad from a pack I bought in the Hobbycraft sale for 29p (bargain) and filled the centre with glitter glue. I've made it as a "Thank You" card and the front opens to enable you to put another message in if you want to. Now all I have to do is work out how I get this entered in the challenge!!!!

Saturday 8th Jan

Not quite every day but at least I've improved on my previous record. Two posts in the same week can't be bad!
Had to make a sympathy card this week which is always tricky. Less is more I think. I've used an image from Pink Petticoat and also a scalloped edge punch from Fiskers. I also added a few small clear gemstones to finish it off.
I'm trying to sort out my craft room starting with all the magazines I have. I'm keeping some of them but the rest I'm going to look through, pull out any that inspire me and then recycle them. I have to have a serious sort because I hate working in a mess. If I can, my aim is to be able to find enough room so that my Big Shot can be on my work desk as I use it so much.
No home game this weekend but the Leeds game was brill especially as we won 2-1. Come on you Bluebirds :)

New Year, new resolution

I'm going to try and keep this blog going all year if I can. I think it's because I know no one is reading it that I lose interest. I've had a new camera for Christmas so I will try and put a photograph on everyday of my cardmaking. This is todays entry using funky hand papers from the Colour my World CD. Going to the football tonight Cardiff City vs Leeds.......a crucial game for us. Hope it's not too cold.
